Membership

When Kehillah of Arizona was founded in 2008, the vision of the Rabbi and Board of Directors was to create a community for Jews that was more personal than institutional. Being a “partner” in Kehillah means that you are part of a holy community, but the concept goes beyond that. The Kehillah experience is centered on a series of relationships with our Rabbi and with the other Kehillah partners. From those relationships emerge opportunities for teaching and learning, spirituality, camaraderie and caring. The rapid evolution of programming in our first year has been remarkable. But the emergence of these programs came from partners’ initiatives, not from institutional design. It is this nurturing environment that makes Kehillah of Arizona unique in the Valley.

So whether you use the term ‘partner” or “member,” whether you “join” or “affiliate,” Kehillah is your community. We welcome your interest and hope that our community will become your spiritual home for many years to come.

Financial Commitment/ Dues

Become a full partner in Kehillah – Your annual financial commitment:

Formal partnership (your membership dues) provides Kehillah with the funds that enable us to operate and provide services to our partners. With your annual financial commitment, Kehillah conducts services and programs and supports education and a rabbinic/pastoral presence. It also funds our regular operating expenses such as building rental, clerical services, insurance, printing, telephone and internet services, etc. It is necessary to assure that our community is fiscally sound and can fulfill its mission.

Partnership in Kehillah is open to any person of the Jewish faith and his/her spouse/partner and is for a one year period ending June 30th. Categories and support amounts are as follows:

Support Categories

Support categories were developed after careful consideration of the need to create a balance between the fiscal requirements of Kehillah and keeping costs as low as possible for our partners. Our membership costs are significantly lower than other congregations in the area. And it is Kehillah’s intention to remain a low-cost, high satisfaction option.

Honorary Support Categories:

$5,400 Founding Partner/Malach (angel)
$3,600 Sustaining Partner/Manhig (leader)
$1,800 Supporting Partner/Shomer (guardian)

Support Categories:

$900 Couple
$550 Young Couple (to age 35)

$450 Individual
$225 Young Individual (to age 35)

Our community is based on relationships and a vision of what we can build together. We value all contributions and what our partners bring as the offerings of their hearts.
